Detection Principle
When atoms are thermally excited, they transition from the ground state to the excited state. Upon returning to the ground state, they emit characteristic spectral lines. Due to the different energy level structures of atoms for each element, the emitted spectral lines are distinct, allowing for qualitative analysis of the sample. Additionally, based on the varying concentrations of the elements in the sample, the emission intensities differ, enabling quantitative determination of the elements.
